Alphas always win...

Heyyy people!

Alphas do win. And Skye Hammilton knows that. Which brings me to my point. Lisi yesterday posted the cover of The Alphas. It looks so ah-mazing! Even though she says it's not the finished version it looks pretty as it is now.

And this is what Lisi has to say

" Today I am going to show you the cover for Alphas. I love it almost as much as I love the book. Ignore the “created by Lisi Harrison.” That’s a mistake. It should say By Lisi Harrison. It’s not the final cover yet but it’s super-close. See the half-picture of a girl? Well, when you open the inside flap you will see all of her. That’s Skye Hamilton–or rather, my publisher’s vision of Skye Hamilton. Feel free to have your own.
And this is part of her Alpha Academy application. We will show a different character’s application on the next book in the series and so on.
"

Isn't the idea genius? Oh here's the picture of Skye. She's holding pointe shoes, see? Dance shoes.

As my title says, Alphas always win. Massie is an alpha. Massie should win too. This is why Elizabeth McLaughlin has been nominated "Favorite Newcomer- Female" for The Clique by Pop Star magazine for their "Poptastic!" Awards. You can vote for her here. It would be sooo awesome if she won! deadline is May 5.

And if I didn't mention before the Clique book website has new downloads so make sure to check it out here.

And check out Massie's Current State of the Union here to see what's in and what's O-U-T.

The Clique also has a facebook if you didn't know. And FYI right now it has 1 499 fans. Yay!

Clique Movie meets Elizabeth!

Hey people!

I've posted so many things awn Elizabeth McLaughlin (Massie Block) that you probably know her by heart. jk. But the Clique movie Official site posted a short interview awn her... click here to see it too.

Meet ElizabethPosted on 2008-11-11
Hey GLUs,

You’ve already gotten
up close with Massie Block. Well, here’s your chance to get to know Elizabeth McLaughlin, the actress who plays Massie in The Clique movie.

We sat down with Elizabeth and asked her five burning questions that we absolutely had to have the answer to. They are:
Q: Did you know about 'The Clique' before the movie?
A: Definitely! The Clique series was actually one of my favorite series, before I even got the audition. When I got the audition for Massie I flipped out. It was surreal to me because I remember reading the books and thinking 'I would love to play Massie in the movie' and then to think I’ve actually done that, it’s mind-blowing.

Q: Is this your first film?
A: It is my first film and I can’t even explain to you how exciting it’s been for me. What a perfect movie to do as your first – you get to wear the best clothes and you get to work with people your own age so you get best friend relationships out of it and then, at the same time, get to play this way cool, really dramatic character. It’s the greatest experience I’ve ever lived through.

Q: What’s great about the Massie character?
A: Massie is so dramatic and she’s so over to the top, which is so much fun to play. And she has the best clothes and the best style. She’s this leader, this alpha that everyone respects and everyone wants to be.

Q: Tell us about the fashion in the movie.
A: Fashion is huge, it’s an influential character by itself. I’m wearing the most fabulous clothing I think I have ever worn in my entire life, it’s amazing! I would get dressed in my trailer and just think 'This is insane!' I would have loved to steal the wardrobe, it’s so amazing.

Q: Do you think Clique fans will like this movie?
A: I think everyone who loves the books will love the movie. I was a fan of the books and honestly, when I first got the script, I was really afraid that they wouldn’t keep true to the books or the characters but they really, really have. All of the actors are trying really hard to be true to the books and be true to the characters.

OMG ! I really like Elizabeth so I'm happy they put up her interview =)

Popstar: Elizabeth McLaughlin

Hey people!

I found a short interview with Elizabeth McLaughlin (Massie) and her embarassing momment in a POPSTAR!
I posted it below:

Our Pick? The Clique!

Elizabeth McLaughlin stars in the new movie, the Clique, based on the popular book series about a girl who moves to a new school and has a hard time fitting in with her classmates! She plays Massie, the most popular girl at the prestigious Octavian Country Day School!

"Massie is an interesting charcter. On the outside, to any other person, you see her as this very, very mean, snotty, alpha girl who is in charge of the clique and is kinda like a dictator," Elizabeth says, "but on the inside, you really get to see who she really is."

Elizabeth was never in one specific "clique" at school!

"I was one of the girls who was considered a chameleon, 'cause I was hanging out with the preps and the jocks and, you know, the emos and the theater geeks."

Elizabeth is an actress you may "hear" from again soon!

"I started off as a singer and a dancer well before I even was an actress, so you might hear from me as a triple threat!"

Crystal Clear!

Blush-o-meter: 9/10

"I was at a sleepover one time. My friend had a main house and a guest house, and at first we decided to stay in the main house but then all the girls decided 'Well, let's stay in the guest house.' So we were all moving back and forth with all our sleeping bags and the sliding glass door was open the whole entire time. I went back to the main house to get my pillow and I was the lst one out there so I wanted to run straight back to the main house and I sprinted head first into the sliding glass door and actually ended up getting a pretty serious concussion! I'm a klutz!

Hope you enjoyed that! It took me soooooooooo long to write it !!!!!

Elizabeth McLaughlin interview

Enjoy!

1) You have an incredible voice. Are you thinking about starting a music career or an album?

Awh! Thank you so much! Well, Singing is how I started performing [started when I was 5] and It's always been a passion of mine, but for a long time It was put on the back burner because I'm so utterly in love with the art of acting. But recently I've been thinking about it.. and I don't want my passion for music to die. So I've decided to start working with singing coaches again and MAYBE put a demo together. [Although, that's a long time away! ;) ] But I only really wanna do that if I get to make the kind of music I want to Make. So we'll see! :D

2) How did you score the part of Massie that millions of girls around the U.S. wanted?

I scored the part of Massie by embracing her as a person. Being a fan of the books, and having read all of them, I KNEW Massie. I knew who she was, What she's about, what she was thinking, and WHY she does the sometimes horrible things she does. But I also made her into a human 12 year old girl from the fictionized character that Lisi Harrison perfected. I tried to think of the girls who I knew personally who acted like Massie and did things like her. I took mannerisms from them and intensified them. But overall, I worked really hard to translate her correctly so that the fans wouldn't be disappointed. :)

3) Did you audition for any other parts besides Massie?Yep!

Everyone read for Massie and then other characters afterwards. Because I was blonde at the time, I also auditioned for Kristen.

4) What was the audition process like?

The audition process was extensive. I overall went in for the casting director, producers, director and their assistants eight times! They mixed and Matched us girls VERY carefully! I had read with different girls for every part before they chose the amazing cast we have today! :D

5)What was your favorite part about filming the Clique?

Hmm. That's a hard question! :) Because it was my first film EVERYTHING was uber exciting! Everything was new and fresh and I had never done them before, so I LOVED EVERY second of filming and the processes before and after. But if I HAD to choose... I would say the character I got to play! I loved playing Massie because she's so over the top and dramatic. So with the costumes, the hair, the make-up, the sets, and the lines I got to fully BE Massie and be over the top and dramatic. It was so much fun. :)

6) Do you relate at all to Massie Block(Your Character)?

I do. I understand the intoxication of power and being on top. I also relate to being so used to what you have that if ANY one threatens it, you stand up for it and not let ANYONE tear it apart.. There's a little bit of Massie in all of us...

7) What are your future ideas or projects?

Right Now, Between The Clique Movies, I'm auditioning for other roles and Working very extensively in my Acting Class. I'm also writting some scripts. I Know this is going to sound exceedingly lame, but I recently watched an Anime movie Called.. The Girl who Lept through Time. And I fell in love with it and I REALLY want to be in the Live Action Version if they make one... But Overall My goal is to continue working as an Actress and eventually a Cinematographer. :D

8) Tell us, pleaseeee, A LOT about the wardrobe on set! =)

Legally, I'm not allowed to tell you A LOT into details.. But I can say that It is AMAZING! You won't be disappointed! And yes we were dressed in All Major designers. Being a fan of the Books, I felt that our Costume Designer did an AMAZING job at picking clothes to represent each character. The Wardrobe was definitely one of my favorite things about the Movie!

9)What is your advice for girls who want to get into acting?

My biggest advice is to NEVER give up on your dreams! GO FOR IT! No matter how far fetched they seem! Also remember that EVERY actor and actress started with small things. Being Successful in this industry is all about working your way up. Also, If it's something you really want to do.. never stop working for it.. and Acting is all about PRACTICE PRACTICE & PRACTICE!!! Never give up on it.
