"Warner Bros. Will Develop Live Action Digital Series 'The Clique'

15 June 2010 4:48 PM, PDT
The Cultural Post
This morning, Warner Bros., a major American production studio, announced its intention to develop a live action digital series adapted from The Clique, a book series written by Lisi Harrison.
Fans of The Clique should expect to see new characters. Besides, the all new episodes will be written by Justine Bateman (Easy to Assemble) and Emmy Award-winner Jill Kushner (Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show).
As for the story, no details have been revealed. However, let's have in mind that The Clique, as a book series, targets "young adults". The story takes place in a prestigious private school for girls. Among the students, a clique dominates: the Pretty Committee, which is led by Massie Block. The four members of this clique see themselves at the top of the food chain and makes a point in wearing designer clothes. As time goes by, Claire Lyons who just moved to Florida will join » "

Elizabeth McLaughlin (Massie in the Clique movie) will be acting in "First Day".

"Alloy’s First Digital Slate: ‘First Day’, ‘Hollywood’, ‘Talent’

13 July 2010 9:50 AM, PDT
Tubefilter.tv
Bank & Reed sounds like a soldered old New York law firm, but in this case it’s the twosome of Josh Bank and Tripp Reed, the two Alloy Entertainment execs overseeing their newly formed digital division and its first official digital slate of three new original web series coming this summer and fall. The three series will release back-to-back, with the first up being, First Day, an original comedy series written by Alyssa Embree and Jessica Koosed Etting and starring Tracey Fairaway (Make It or Break It) and Elizabeth McLaughlin (The Clique) that “follows a seventeen-year-old girl who relives her first day at a new school over and over.” Well, original in that 1993’s Groundhog Day pre-dates most of the actors in this one. First Day is set to launch in late August with an 8-episode first season. Following First Day is the mid-September release of Hollywood is like High School With Money, »
- Marc Hustvedt"*

Ellen Marlow (Claire in the Clique movies), will be acting in more TV episodes, after her appearance on Cold Case, she'll appear on CSI: Criminal Scene Investigation and Criminal Minds.

Bridget Mendler (Kristen in the Clique movie) has now her own Disney show. Good Luck Charlie, that's getting its second season. She's also cast as Olivia in a new Disney musical, Lemonade Mouth. She's playing the lead vocalist.
"Five Rhode Island freshmen high school kids - Olivia(Bridgit Mendler), Mo(Naomi Scott), Charlie(Blake Michael), Stella(Hayley Kiyoko) and Wen(Adam Hicks) - who meet in detention and decide to form a garage band using unusual instruments, including a ukulele. The detention buddies try to organize a student-led fight to save the school's one organic frozen-lemonade machine that becomes the mascot of their band"

From J-14:
Disney just announced a new series! Set to premiere in 2010, their new comedy series Good Luck Charlie, stars Jason Dolley and Bridget Mendler. The show is about a family who's lives go bonkers when a new baby sister, Charlie, arrives. Bridget plays Teddy and Jason plays Casey, who are the two oldest siblings. At the end each episode, Teddy makes a video diary for Charlie about the day's crazy adventures.

Although this is Bridget's first big role on a Disney series, she is no stranger to DC. She played Nick Jonas' love interest on JONAS and will be on a special episode of Wizards of Waverly Place, "Wizards vs. Vampires" where she plays Justin's (David Henrie) Vampire GF. "Wizards vs. Vampires" premieres on Friday, June 24 at 8 pm ET/PT.
Just to let you guys know, Bridget just shot her first live taping August 28th. I hope it's going OK. =)
Again, on a web called Social Butterflies, they posted :
“Good Luck Charlie”, which was originally titled “Oops”, follows two teenagers, Teddy and Casey Holliday, and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, whose parents enlist their help when they return to work after the birth of their fourth child, Charlotte, aka Charlie. With their parents juggling full time careers, the older Holliday siblings pitch in, getting very familiar with baby formula, burp clothes and babysitting while navigating typical teenage life.

In each episode Teddy creates a personalized video diary for Charlie. Each video will chronicle Teddy’s daily adventures and mishaps for Charlie to use as advice when her big sister is no longer living at home.
Starring in the new series are Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Bradley Steven Perry, Eric Allan Kramer, Leigh Allyn Baker. The series began shooting a few months back, and origionally allowed for a fan audience, but since changed its policy. Good Luck Charlie will premiere on the Disney Channel beginning in 2010.

Ellen Marlow interview!!!

Hey people!

The Clique movie posted an interview with Ellen Marlow (Claire Lyons) awn their site. It's pretty cool so I posted two of my fav Q&A below. Be sure to check out the whole thing here.

Q: Tell us about Claire’s wardrobe in the movie.
A: Claire has interesting clothes. The first time you see me, I’m wearing overalls and a shirt with fruit on it! And I have these big, pink platform Keds. Sophie [Everhard, who plays Dylan] texted me after her first wardrobe fitting and said her entire wardrobe was Marc Jacobs so I got excited and went to see my clothes … and saw overalls and Keds. So, um yeah -- I have some pretty interesting clothing.

Q: So, your characters don’t get along but did you get along with the rest of the girls?

A: We all became friends through the audition process – we became friends really fast. Every time that they were mean to me during a scene, they would come up to me afterwards and apologize. Everyone kind of got upset every time we have to be mean to each other but then we laughed about it later. We messed with each other all the time. It was fun!

Now how cool is that?? Um, for those who are spaced out and don't know the mojor event tomorrow, I'll remind you: THE CLIQUE MOVIE COMES OUT TOMORROW!! too cool!
In an earlier post I gave the link to pre-order it.

And for those who still haven't seen the Clique Girlz video, I suggest you do. It's ah-mazing. It includes never before seen scenes of the Clique movie. Ah-mazing! So check it out here.

Ellen Taylor Marlow plays the leading role of Claire Lyons in the upcoming Warner Premiere movie The Clique based on the New York Time’s best selling book by Lisi Harrison to be released in late Fall of 2008.Ellen originated the lead role of Jemima Potts in the Broadway production of the Tony-nominated musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (directed by Adrian Noble and co-starring Raul Esparza and Philip Bosco). Ellen Marlow interview with Lisi Harrison

Hey people!

Lisi Harrison the ah-mazing author that writes The Clique series( we heart her times 10 000, wait, even more than that!) interviewed Ellen Marlow (the lucky girl who plays Claire Lyons) awn August 6 on her BLAH-G that she updates every wednesday.

Here it is:

MEET MOVIE KUH-LAIREAugust 6th, 2008

Heyyyyy,
Welcome to Kuh-laire week. The last book of the summer collection dropped yesterday and we’re going to celebrate with an interview from Movie Claire or Ellen Marlow if you’re feeling literal. If you ask me this girl is it! When I saw The Clique I really believed that she was Claire. It was freaky. And no one rocks Keds like she does. Not even Mischa.

Describe yourself in one word.
Giggly! hehehe

Describe Claire in one word.
Genuine

Describe how you felt when you were cast to play Claire in, okay, two words.
Totally psyched! :)

What were you doing before the movie?
I moved to California two and half years ago after working on Broadway for a year. So when I got the part of Claire, I was living in Burbank with my mom and brother while going to school, going to tons of auditions and going to acting class every week.

What are you working on now?
Lately, I’ve become more focused on music and have been working with a couple different producers on writing and recording some songs. I come from a singing background and I thought it was important to focus on my roots.

Have you ever been in a real Claire situation? You know where you were the new girl and you didn’t fit in? Can you tell us about it or will you cry?
Aw Lisi, I promise I won’t cry! :) Yes and no. When I moved to California, I was the new girl in school, but luckily I made some awesome friends quickly. I have always had great friends, but I’ve also gone through some rough times with girls that were not very nice to me. :(

What is your favorite scene in The Clique movie?
My favorite scene is toward the end of the movie when Massie and Claire resolve their differences. Elizabeth and I auditioned together with that scene - doing it like a million times - so doing it on set in front of the camera was almost surreal. It was very special between the two of us :)

You were so good you actually made me cry. How do you prepare for a dramatic scene? Did you think about something sad from your own life?
I am so lucky to not have much sadness in my own life. As an actor, I have worked really hard with my acting coach to focus on the circumstances of the character and where the scene fits into the overall film. But in shooting the sad scenes in The Clique, I got a tremendous amount of help from our AMAZING director Michael Lembeck. He helped me stay focused on each scene every day and kept a really quiet, serious mood on the set during and after each take - which I’m sure as you can imagine is really hard to do when your four bff’s are cracking you up all day!

In real life which Clique character are you most like?
I have to say I’m a combination of Claire and Alicia. Claire, because she is silly and loves to have a good time no matter what anyone thinks, and Alicia because she is a leader and not a follower :)

Do you have a sweet tooth like Claire? What’s your favorite snack?
I have a HUGE sweet tooth and could not live without sour gummies (just like Claire!) and Skittles.

Has your life changed since you shot the movie?
My day to day life is pretty much the same, but I now have four amazing new friends! Since doing the film, all the girls have kept in touch and even had the chance to hang out and have some fun. Like the Clique girls, we’re definitely different in our own ways, but we all get along so well! I also came off of the set feeling like I had learned so much. I didn’t know anything about what a film’s crew actually does in making a movie. The guys and girls on the crew were all so nice and helpful that they taught me everything I needed to know.

What was the best day on set?

Definitely the day Claire gets a make-over from Alicia, Dylan and Kristen. We got to ad lib a lot of that scene and had a total blast acting crazy and even working in a fun little dance we made up. We ALWAYS had a great time on set, but that doesn’t mean that Claire was having a good time during her scenes!! That’s why I love that scene so much – Claire finally gets to have fun!:)

Was it hard watching all the other girls get styled out by the wardrobe department while you were stuck in your puffy jacket and Keds? ‘
Yes! Like a lot of people, I love clothes and I love to shop. Plus, the Keds weren’t very comfortable, we shot the film in Rhode Island (which is SUPER cold by the way) and my toes were always freezing!

What do you want to say to the Clique fans?
I encourage everyone to just try to be themselves and find something good in every person they meet. I really hope you guys enjoy the movie!! We all had so much fun making it and I hope you find it just as fun to watch.

HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE HER???? Ah-dorable, right?

TTYW,
Lisi

Yeah well I'll have to XOXO too,

A
